How did u arrange for child actors??

I located the kids in a village where my aunt teaches. The kid is from her school only. This kid never acted ever before.

What did u tell them about the film?

Nothing much, except their dialogues. to the central protagonist I gave him dialogues two days before and never rehearse . A big mistake I guess.

But as we wanted to make film in very dogme style so we stick to most of the rules of dogme style film making:

These are the rules of dogme film making .we will not be following all of them:

Filming must be done on location. Props and sets must not be brought in (if a particular prop is necessary for the story, a location must be chosen where this prop is to be found).
The sound must never be produced apart from the images or vice versa. (Music must not be used unless it occurs where the scene is being filmed).
The camera must be a hand-held camera. Any movement or immobility attainable in the hand is permitted. (The film must not take place where the camera is standing; filming must take place where the action takes place.)
The film must be in colour. Special lighting is not acceptable. (If there is too little light for exposure the scene must be cut or a single lamp be attached to the camera).
Optical work and filters are forbidden.
The film must not contain superficial action. (Murders, weapons, etc. must not occur.)
Temporal and geographical alienation are forbidden. (That is to say that the film takes place here and now.)
Genre movies are not acceptable.
The final picture must be transferred to the Academy 35mm film, with an aspect ratio of 4:3, that is, not widescreen. (Originally, the requirement was that the film had to be filmed on Academy 35mm film, but the rule was relaxed to allow low-budget productions.)
The director must not be credited.

What all kind of problems did you face during the shooting of the film, all technical problems plus whatever other difficulties you had?
First was with the main protagonist
He is just 7 year old so we had tough time make him act. at one time both of us were only concerned bout making him speak dialogue properly and not to look at the camera some how.
Next thing he was very restless and once got friendly with us was he was totally out of control.
During very first scene we had class of about 30 children’s most of them, I bet never saw camera before so everybody was curious about what’s going on?
So arijit suggested a idea and we switched on the camera and went away. After 3 min all class got restless and started doing all things u expect from the bunch of kids. The shot came out really cool.
I forget to shoot one small dialogue with friend of the central character, so we thought we will do it next day piece of cake, but next day to our great horror the kid got huge bandage on his forehead. So we kind of got f***ed. now we had only two option either to re-shoot the entire scene or to cut the dialogue or do it over the shoulder. first alternative was immediately turn down as we both thought of amount of trouble we had a day before making them act so we will be compromising and gonna do it off the screen.
Often we forgot some props for scene and use to ask people if things can be arranged.
Same with supporting cast. Many actors we just hired on set only. Everything worked out some how.
'Dogme style rocks'

What about funds??

FUNDS are u kidding?

How can I budding film maker arrange for funds for shooting his/her short films ???

Honestly very difficult to answer. if u have your own camcorder and editing machine and knows how to ask for favors then think of making film otherwise do animation or think of something else.
